My name is Jack Davies, I'm a 24 year old digital artist from the UK. I've been using Blender for about 12 months now, it being my first full 3D package. I've been a 2D conceptual artist spanning 12 years prior.
About "Body Modifications:"
I created the snail using ZBrush for the sculpting, but Blender for creating the base sculpt to work on. I also used Blender and Cycles for the rendering, and Photoshop CS6 for post work. I wanted to create something a little different to really test out my PBR shader setup, and after seeing a snail near my house, the idea struck me to create something a little different, but beautiful. I sculpted a very high poly mesh in the millions, and baked the details to a mid-poly mesh of around 200k. I'm pretty happy with the result!
