Skin Selection is a Blender addon to select the bones controllers based on the meshes surface.
It allows to hide all the controllers shapes and work directly with the mesh, clearing out the viewport.

Some of you may know something is similar is being prepared for Blender 2.8... Since 2.8 won't be released before long , I wrote this addon.
