Sometimes the render itself can tells a lot about its creator: whether he/she is a veteran or not, whether he/she is meticulous or impatient, for example. Have you ever wondered who these Blender artists are behind those "seasoned" renders?
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
My name is Anssi Karppinen and I'm pretty much self-taught 3D generalist / graphics designer from Finland. I'm not directly involved in 3D-industry but I do make use of 3D graphics and animations as a part of my job. I've been using Blender for around 10 years now.
About "Hands of a Mechanic (or more simply: Mechanic's Hands):"
Here I wanted to do a finished scene with the hand models I had been working on a while. As for the subject, I've always enjoyed crafting and doing work with my hands as a contrast to the tidy office job, so this scene is an attempt to capture some of that feeling. The subject was also very suitable for a bit rougher style that I often tended to lean on and the grease textures for the hands were interesting challenge in itself.
