How good is Blender as an arch viz tool? You might find the answers in the arts and comments made by the following artists, some of the many that are scheduled to be featured in this series.
Neoclassical Interior

Renderer: Cycles

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Nikias Herzhauser. I've been using Blender for about 3 years. I started to use it through a course in university, 3D Reconstruction for Archeologists. My subject of choice is archviz, especially interior archviz. Another thing I like to do is still life scenes. My goal is to make realistic scenes, but sometimes I do things that go more in the low poly direction, an art-style I also love.
About "Neoclassical Interior:"
The modeling was done using Blender and Marvelous Designer and was rendered using cycles. I used the adaptive samples feature from this custom build:

I used 2000 samples for each render. The scenes were lit by emission planes behind the windows and two point lights at the left side of the room. Lightportals were used. Clamp direct and indirect is set to 2, bounces to 8 and 3. The large paintings are made by Danny O'Connor (You can find his paintings at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/artbydoc/ ).
