One of the great things about Blender is the availability of free--or "affordable"--online tutorials on almost any topic, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, and etc. However, many of them are redundant, covering topics that others have already covered. Qualities also vary. It's not usual to find yourself having followed a tutorial for more than half an hour without discovering any new things. Once in a while, though, you would find some tutorials that were worth your time and even gratitude. 2016 has also seen a variety of free online Blender tutorials galore. Which of them were you grateful of?
The following tutorials released during the year 2016 may have been some of them. How were they chosen? Some of the criteria were:
1. Originality: Covering or discovering unaddressed or insufficiently addressed features.2. Practicality: Impact on actual production pipeline.3. Up-to-date validity: Whether it works in the latest Blender versions or not.4. Clarity: How well thought-out and how easy to understand the presentation was.5. Presentation: Professional and shorter the better.
And please be mindful that the the must-see tutorials on Blender Cloud have been omitted from this review for obvious reasons.
