Sometimes, Blender's excelling abilities can surprise its own developers in aspects that they never conceived. Nature scenes, in particular, can be stunning as was displayed by this week's winner's work, who also didn't expect what he was coming to.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
My name is Jesse Sutherland and I am 26 years old. I have had an extreme interest in computers that began in my early teens arising from my enjoyment of video games. Programming became my main interest (mostly C++), but CG gained my attention as I discovered Blender. Currently I am spending my time in Blender and learning Unreal Engine 4.
About "Sanctuary Rising"
This scene had absolutely no planning. What started off as some experiments/doodles with dynatopo sculpting and textures began to evolve. From the center island outward, I just kept adding to the scene. Overall I would have to say I am very satisfied with how the "experiment" turned out.
