'Who's behind this awesome render?' you might have wondered. You might be surprised to learn, however, that they sometimes come from new artists who just recently started learning 3D. But they seem to have one thing in common: Before learning Blender, they were already good with traditional art.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
My name is Manuel Peter and I come from Germany. I'm studying multimedia and communication and I love to work with 3D software. The endless possibilities to generate everything imaginable is what impresses me the most. And with a great international community it is even more fun.
About "Realistic Dragonfly"
The goal for this particular image was to create an image of a dragonfly, that comes as close as possible to a photograph. The dragonfly textures are drawn directly in blender, the leaf texture is an image texture. It was rendered with cycles (1000 samples).
