How good is Blender as an arch viz tool? You might find the answers in the arts and comments made by the following artist(s), some of the many that are scheduled to be featured in this series.
by Elijah Sakowski
My name is Elijah Sakowski. I'm a 23 years old graphic designer and CG artist from Russia's Far East. Nowadays I mostly do architectural visualizations as a freelancer.
About "Before Breakfast:"
This work is a personal project. Its main purpose was to test Blender as a tool of trade for real production pipeline. I set myself a tight deadline (2 working days: 1 for planning, modeling and shading, and 1 for rendering and post-production) and it was a real pleasure to feel how quickly and efficiently it is to work with Blender.
Since "Before Breakfast" completion, I have moved from The Foundry Modo to Blender absolutely painlessly. Moreover, IMO Blender is much more powerful and versatile than any software I've used before (3dsMax, Maya, The Foundry Modo).
