While Blender has sometimes been accused of being "a jack of all trade but a master of none," it seems that this "jack of all trade" is "excelling" most other "dedicated traders." This phenomenon seems most obvious in recent Arch viz renders produced in Blender. No wonder this week winner has been using Blender as his main modeling tool for his arch viz needs.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best  work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you  the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of November 11, Enrico Cerica.

About Me:

About "Mix Familial & Workshop House:"
Here is a revisited project of a build mixing a workshop and a familial house. This was a nice lighting exercise especially for indoor scenes. The main deal was to render the outdoor view with the internal furniture and to make all that fitting into the 3GB video memory, I had to export a low-res version of the furniture for outdoor renderings.

Except the cars (Downloaded from archidom.net/ArchiDOM but duno the authors, anyway thanks to them) and the fabrics modeled with Marvelous Designer, everything was modeled using Blender.  Everything was rendered with Octane standalone. All the trees and vegetation are geometry, no back plane used, instance scatters are very welcome here.

I used AO mode 3, AO mode 4 and pathtracing but can't point what has been rendered with what. Anyway as often I rendered two images (Sun and HDR) and mixed them. The rendering time on two GTX580 varies from 30 min. (mainly for outdoor) to 2 hrs. (for indoor) depending on the render kernel used.

I used mesh emitters in front of the windows (inside) to increase the light inside the building, portals don't bring enough light.

Post-processing to improve lighting and contrasts as well as the tone mapping done with Photoshop and Gimp.
