Last week has been an exiting week for both current and prospective users of Blender due to the release of TEARS OF STEEL the forth short film created by Blender Institute demonstrating new potentials of Blender. One great way to show your appreciation for the developers of Blender is to buy the official set of TEARS OF STEEL DVDs that comes with complete productions files used to create the short.

There has been some excellent renders last week, but we still have another artist that deserves our attention for his creative vision in his work.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best  work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of October 1, 2012: Alexey Lugovoy.

Title: "Fire Flower"

About Me:
My name is Alexey Lugovoy. I am 24 years old computer graphics specialist, designer and programmer. General fields of research and creative activity - visual arts, graphic applications programming, game engines development. Interested in cross-platform and open-source software and technologies. For several years engaged in computer graphics as freelance artist creating visualizations of architectural objects, designing website interface elements.

About "Fire Flower:"
This particular concept was once chosen as the splash screen of Blender 2.62. Initial scene was created and rendered in Blender 2.49 about two years ago, recently I decided to revisit and extend this scene to make a dual screen wallpaper.
