Blender has gained a good reputation for rendering 3D models for digital matte painting thanks to artists like this week's winner, who also got noted in a recent CG contest

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of May 7, 2018: Arnaud Imobersteg.

Title: "Old Victorian London"
Genre: Environment Design
Renderer: Cycles

About Me:
I'm Arnaud Imobersteg, 26, from Switzerland. I've been using Blender and Cycles for 2 years now as my main 3d tool, working in a little studio specialized in contest image making for architecture. I'm now looking at joining a bigger architectural studio.

About "Old Victorian London:"
Image made for the Kitbash3d contest using their free sample kit for the buildings. I modeled and found props to add as barrels, cars, horses, .... I used CMV for the materials, RenderStreet render farm to render and a lot of Photoshop to post-produce it, fill with peoples and make it living!

I recently wanted to try a multipass render on a big scene like this. So I rendered a pass for each kind of light, HDRI / top light / key light / buildings /... allowing me to tweak the light more easily in post.
