Increasing number of seasoned 2D artists are adding Blender to their skill set with phenomenal results, as is the case with this week's winner!
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
My name is Olya Deeva. I am a graphic designer based in Moscow. I started with 3D about two years ago to expand my skills as an artist and totally fell in love with it. As I continue my creative journey, I try to improve everyday.
About "Mechanical Dandelion:"
I like to do quick projects to improve my composition, lighting and color skills every day. The Mechanical Dandelion was one of such projects. I was inspired by steampunk and different mechanical things. It was interesting to see how natural flowers, such as dandelion, can be made of wire and gears. I played around with materials before finally choosing copper. As for the background, I like different bokeh effects a lot, so I was using such kind of picture. Also, I used the camera’s depth of field, as it helps to archive even more depth.
