Creating an inspirational concept art that's "totally" new can be a challenge, even for--or especially for--seasoned concept artists. Sometimes fresh ideas might come from someone who are totally new to the trade.
How, then, can you qualify for this award? Please remember that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. Please submit your latest work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other renderer is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
I am a 3D hobbyist and a property developer by trade, I got into 3D a few years ago when we needed some marketing material for our company. I started with Sketchup and used software called Lumion for our visualizations. Needless to say all roads lead to Blender, after installing and uninstalling Blender numerous times I sat down one weekend and decided to follow some tutorials on Youtube, the rest is now history as I love working in Blender.
About "Poseidon":
I have always been fascinated by Roman/Greek mythology. I decided right from the start that I wanted to use a monochromatic color scheme for this and the color teal really seemed to fit the all powerful, stand in the face of a great storm nicely. There was a lot of post done in Photoshop, namely the mist, the ocean spray, lightning and various levels of color grading.
