With the advent of Cycles render engine, it is quite unexpected to see how Blender excel in rendering photo-realistic scenes of nature. This week's winner also has made an excellent use of such capabilities.
How, then, can you qualify for this award? Please remember that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. Please submit your latest work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other renderer is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
I am a self-taught digital artist, photographer (self-proclaimed), and trainer with a degree in Computer Science (majority of which I'm lucky to pass). My background includes (in no specific order): graphic design, illustration, desktop layouting, web design, pipeline direction, character animation, animation supervision, art direction, modeling, lighting, compositing, and related things.
About 'Uncertainty':
'Uncertainty' has been one of those experimental pieces I initially started a few months ago and decided to discontinue due to lack of motivation and appreciation for the piece itself. However, the files remained intact in my drive; and when I finally decided to get back to it a few weeks ago, the creation process went like a breeze.
It is generally inspired by my childhood imagination - the endless possibilities that might come from the play of thoughts. When I was a kid, I loved to play with paper boats after a heavy rain and the pavement and roadside is flooded with water. Reminiscing those memories is heart-warming and very sentimental.
I've also made the project files available for download (with more info) at http://www.reynantemartinez.com/uncertainty.html and users can play around with the file however they wish. There are only a few restrictions: the textures I've modified were derived from CGtextures.com which generally implies that these textures cannot be redistributed by default. In addition to this, though I haven't explicitly mentioned any licenses whatsoever, I'd appreciate it if users can credit me as the original author if they intend to use the project and assets elsewhere.
