The project wouldn’t have happened without seeing Arthur Whitehead’s project. He created a watch animation using Cinema 4D and Octane, which I thought was absolutely beautiful. At that moment I was set on recreating it, but I would only use Blender and no plug-ins or 3rd party render engines. I would say it took roughly 9 hours to complete the image and another 2 for the animation. I used only 2 textures from poliigon.com, which were different wiping residues. All other materials were made using the Principled Shader, and different noise nodes.
