One thing that could set directors apart from "technicians" could be that directors feel free to use whatever at their disposal to create a particular scene they want while "technicians" might take it as "cheating." 

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

Artist's Comment
About Me: 
My name is Peter Stulz - I am an artist and architect from Germany living in Berlin. I have been doing 3d for 20 years. I run a studio called xoio together with my wife, providing creative imagery of all kinds based on 3d (mainly architecture).
I love doing 3D and have been using Blender for 2-3 years now. I also rediscovered my love for 2d-work – check out my stuff on instagram or artstation!.
 
About "A Home Far Away from Home:"
This is my entry to the “Place called home” work we did at xoio 25 last year. I wanted to explore what a “home” could feel like for a space-traveler pushing the frontiers and the fatigue
involved in being an adventurer. How do you make yourself a place of comfort in a hostile environment far away from your loved ones?
I “forced” myself to do this one completely in Blender and Affinity Photo to see how far I can push these tools. My thanks go to my lovely colleague and friend Julia for going to Mars for me!
