Highend Sound
by Andrej Bodružić

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Andrej Bodružić and I am from Croatia. I discovered Blender about 2 years ago on a recommendation from a friend. I had just discovered the world of CG and everything I did was done in 3Ds max. Horrible work, mind you. :) Anyway..., 2.5x was underway back then but I didn't fiddle around with it as much. Instead I used Blender 2.49 and I quickly became sick of its GUI. So I droped Blender for a while and went back to 3Ds max, which interface I hated just as much but found to be the lesser of two evils. And since I was a new user GUI was a very big deal for me. It wasn't for the next 6 months that I discovered the full power of Blender 2.5 . It was buggy and it crashed all the time but I loved it. Every bug got fixed in a matter of days and tutorials were poping out everywhere. It was real easy to figure out how Blender works and what you can do with it. The community was (and still is) awsome, so if you had a problem you couldn't figure out all you had to do was ask.
About "Highend Sound:"
This scene was done especialy for the BlenderGuru Photorealizam Contest. I love music and I always wanted a quality sound system for myself. The modeling process took about a day and setting up materials took another one. Render was done in Cycles on 2200 passes. It took about 8 hrs. to render on a CPU. After the render was done, I noticed there was too much grain in one corner of the image that was noticable. So I rendered out a second "border" image with a different seed, that focuses just on that grainy part, and combined the two. So you could say the whole image has 4400 passes. :)
