The winner of last year's Render of the Year Awards in the category of creature art is back with another inspiring render. And guess what? She's the cover art artist for Blender 2.92!
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of April 21, 2021: Joanna Kobierska.

About Me:
I’m Joanna Kobierska, 3d artist, student of Game Design. I’m fascinated by prehistoric life and in most of my artwork I try to bring it to life once again.
About "Dilophosaurus wetherilli:"
Anchiornis was small dinosaur that lived in Jurassic period, 160 millions years ago. Its fossils were found in such excellent conditions that scientists were able to infer that it was grey, with white, spotted wings and light brown crest and speckled cheeks.
I tried to make rigorous reconstruction, based on body outline, and feather impressions seen in fossils.
Doing body covering was interesting challenge. Most of feathers are done by hair particles, those on arms and legs are hair cards and “flight” feathers are alphas placed by hand.
