Perfectly mimicking stop-motion with CGI is a well known practice. But what about doing it with Blender? This week's winner seems to the best Blender artist--if not the second--who has successfully used Blender to that end.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of March 15, 2021: Roman Lysenko.
Title: "The 4th Wall"
Genre: VFX
Renderer: Cycles

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Roman Lysenko. I am a freelance art director\3d generalist working mainly with commercials but my true passion is making short films.
About "The 4th Wall":
This short film intended to be a love letter to stop motion animation with its tactile analogue feel and my passion to weird esoteric stories. The plot should have revolved around a character who realizes to be trapped in a some kind of typical sitcom room where he is ominously watched by someone through invisible forth wall.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of time, wrong production management and vague underdeveloped plot this short film was doomed to be shelved. However, I managed to put together some test clips into one video as it has some interesting visual and animation bits.
