I'm a 3D artist working in Arch Viz for 9 years. Started with 3dsmax, but because of its bugs switched to Blender and now do my job with Blender, since 2007.
About "Showroom Interior:"
I'm still using Blender Internal when it comes to speed - It is really a commercially-ready renderer. On Cycles this scene showed me almost 5 hours for 1 image on double GTX 980ti and I had only one night for all images. And during the day, my client provided his remarks on images and I had only one night to show the changes once again--and again, and 4 more times. So finally BI came to be my "magic wand."
