Blender has come a long way, from a hobbyist's toy to a potent tool for professional artists. Some of its feature--such as hair and fur--are just waiting to be re-discovered by seasoned artists. Check out what the winner for this week was able to pull out of Blender.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartists.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of April 10, 2017Kanishk Chouhan.

Artist's Comments
About Me:
Hi, This is Kanishk here, I work at Anibrain Studios in India. I have been a big fan of Blender ever since Sintel was released. I started using it at home for my personal projects and slowly got addicted to it. I think one of the best additions to Blender has been Cycles, its powerful render engine and it have grown very quickly to a level where I can easily say that it is production ready.

About "Logan:"
Well, I have been a big fan of the Wolverine series and since this was the last one, it was even more special. I enjoy doing portraits a lot and this time I decided to do a portrait of Hugh Jackman as Logan. I really loved the look he is donning in the movie. The sculpt was done in Zbrush but the rest all other stuff was done using blender.Blender's hair system worked really well for me on this one. I enjoy the nodular approach in cycles shading, just makes the things so easy to setup. In the end I would say that cycles and blender are growing at a super fast speed and I am very much assured that Blender will soon be every artist's tool to make art.
