One of the winner for the Render of the Year awards last year has returned with another stunning render--that of nature!
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

About Me:
I'm a CG Artist with huge experience in video production, assets creation for video games and product visualization. I have collaborated on podcasts, interviews, articles and tutorials for 3D Artist Magazine, Blender Nation, and Blender News among others. I'm currently the CG Supervisor at Black Note Inc. and part-time texture artist for my new texture site FriendlyShade.com.
About "Through the Woods:"
The main purpose of this project was to stress-test my new rig: 128GB of RAM along 4 x 1080Ti and 2 x Titan XP. The results were amazing: this scene have roughly 220 million polygons and lots of 16 and 32k textures at 16 bit. The trees and plants are all 3D models, the only backdrop is the mountain at the end of the road which is a photograph I took during one of my trips last year. The view port was so smooth ....
On the other hand, I wanted to challenge and improve myself at nature which to me, is one of the most intimidating subjects when it comes to CG.
