This week's winner is a modeler at ScanlineVFX. Check out why he came to prefer Blender as his modeling tool at work.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of October 7, 2019: Helmut Stark.

Artist's Comments
About Me:
I am a self-taught 3D Artist who joined rather late the party. I started 3D in my 30s and became fast really possessed. I started with developing mobile games and focused after a year
more and more on 3D art. 2 years ago, ScanlineVFX offered my a positition as a modeler in their Studio in Munich. And that's where I am working at the moment.

About "Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver:"
It was a German movie for kids. I used Blender for modeling because there is still no tool in which I am faster.

Q & A
1. How would you explain there is no other modeling tools in which you are faster?
Blenders shortcut based workflow requires some time to get used to it, but it's worth it. Tools in general got a very fluid feeling--what I still miss in Maya.
Also the basic UV tools like unwrap are very fast and don't slow you down through waiting times.
2. Could you name some of the well-known ScanlineVFX’s projects that you were involved in so far?
Bumblebee (also Blender modelling involved, but I wait for my stills to share), X-men Dark Phoenix, Stranger Things Season 3, Tomb Raider to name a few.
