Among "many renders that are a short distance away from being a masterpiece," one has made its way to the Render of the Week Award. If you follow the posts of this week's winner, you would notice a significant "quantum leap" in quality. What's the secret? Notice his comments below. (Although a duplication of a commercial product, his render was awarded in the category of  "Concept Art" due to the amazing original theme design.)

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best  work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of December 3, 2012: Ettienne Vorster.

About Us:
I'm 22 years old and live in South Africa in north-west. I'm a self-taught artist. Got interested in 3D design a few years back when I was still a massive hardcore gamer. Computer games and CG Movies like Iron Man and transformers had a big influence on the way I designed any of my rendered images as well as models. My career in 3D design started 13 years ago starting with GMAX back then, though I only had access to internet in the last year and a half. During this time I've made an effort to observe the world more closely and to learn as much as I possibly can from more experienced users in the field. Been using blender 3D for the last 4 years.

About "Lamborghini Aventador - XS Edition Highway Rear Low:"
During this car's development I've done hundreds of renders, each of which was at a different angle and differently composed. I chose this specific title due to the reason that I made more than just one render of the car on this scene, and wanted to add to the fact that the image was "taken" by a photographer to give a more realistic feel to the overall end result. Camera angles played a huge roll in the final composed image and car style.
