I wanted to create a scene completely in Eevee and have some functionality in it. When I saw a photo of this old Grundig radio I knew that’s the one. It reminded me of my grandparents home, which always had this “frozen in time” aura around it. Modeling the radio was almost the easiest part. A lot more difficult was modeling the little doily in front of the radio.
Using depth of field and ambient occlusion at the same time produced a lot of artifacts when viewing the mesh from a low angle. Using Eevee also opened the possibility
to do a quick animation and have some fun with the scene.
