Check out who the winner for this week is and why he found Blender attractive.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of September 3, 2018: Bernardo Iraci.

About Me:
My name is Bernardo Iraci. I am a 3D generalist from Italy. I started working as a professional artist about 7 years ago in Poland. Last year I moved to Melbourne to follow a job offer as a Lead artist for a VR production company. I always used Blender as my main tool, I love how it has grown so much since when I started using it! I like so much many different aspects of 3D that I never managed to specialize myself in a particular field. That’s why I am a generalist, and honestly, I like being one! It’s probably not the best thing to do if you wanna work in a big pipeline, but I feel having a heterogeneous skill set is helpful to find exciting roles in smaller (but not less challenging!) environments. Getting away from a computer is not always easy, but it’s definitely good from time to time. During those moments I love traveling and here in Australia, I’ve been on many amazing hikes. Also watching movies or playing video games is definitely something I like! I guess it’s hard to beat just having a beer and a chat in good company, however!
About "The Queen:"
About this project, I can say that it’s great to see it received attention because characters are usually a tough topic for me. I feel more comfortable with environments, but it’s always good to step out of your comfort zone from time to time. It was also the first time I did something a bit more stylized and I have to say I definitely enjoyed it! Most of the work was done in Blender, apart from the texturing for which I used substance painter. I like this program but I definitely miss a proper UDIM support. I know Blender developers are working on this for 2.8 and I cannot wait to try it! I also used Marvelous Designer for clothes and there’s not much to say here… it makes life so much easier when you have to create nice clothing!
Lately, I am getting really interested in storytelling, visual and written. I’d like one day to write a beautiful story and then maybe do an animation out of it, but that’s quite a challenging and ambitious project. In the meantime, I tried to write a small bit of a story here. It was my first attempt at something like this, but it felt nice to try to deliver my vision with some additional context!
