About Me:
My father is an artist and I have always been surrounded by paintings, sculptures and music while computers were invading our homes back in the 80's. I guess it influenced me a lot as I begun messing around with a workstation keyboard and playing computer games. After a few years I decided I wanted to make music so I started my career and as I always have been fascinated with equipment and tools, my passion for 3D graphics started to develop. It's been 8 years since I decided I had to replicate a real object until today (2017). On my daily job I work as a UI & UX designer and looking forward to expand my expertise towards an unknown direction .... Watch out for news at https://www.artstation.com/artist/burdallodesign
About "Gladstone for Korg Japan INC.:"
Inspired by retro machines for a modern world. Apart from the right materials and textures combination, it took some time to get the wood right and a balanced HDRI lighting as shoting frontally is not as easy as it seems, specially when its an interface that users are going to be looking at for hours.
Rendered with Cycles. This was one of the first projects I made using Blender as my main modelling/rendering tool. I was really surprised when I saw how powerful this free tool can be. I have to say I had the exact same thoughts as many people still have today about using free tools but that is long gone. I love Blender.
Q&A with BlenderNews.org
Q: The current digital UI of KORG Gladtone was designed by you--and using Blender, is that correct?
A: That's correct. I did Gladstone design and assets animation renders for Korg, using Blender.
Q: Is there any other softsinth on the market which digital UI was designed by you, using Blender?
A: I have plenty of products currently on the market made by me. If you head to my personal website you can see that any product from Gladstone for Korg and forward were made using Blender. Prior to that were made using Cinema 4D.
Q: You mean all of the following?:
FNK-4 & Cinematik (Kontakt Instrument)
Zurich (Audio Plugin, iOS)
Recife (iOS)
Rosario (iOS)
boost (Audio Plugin, iOS)
Revolution (Kontakt Instrument)
From The Garage (Kontakt Instrument)
Vintage Disco Kit (Kontakt Instrument)
Modern Folk Rock Kit (Kontakt Instrument)
Kamata (iOS)
Gladstone (iOS)
A: Yes.
Q: What would you respond, if asked: "Why did you choose to move from C4D to Blender, when C4D still seems to be delivering excellent renders?"
A: I tried Blender a few years ago and got somehow disappointed as the learning curve was and it probably is a little steep, as it works differently than other tools on the market, but I decided to go back due to the GPU rendering capabilities a couple of years later, and fell in love with how fast it was--not just rendering but everything else. Apart from that, it has lots of third party plugins including pie menus (not available in C4D), You can test new features while they are developed.... It's just amazing and it deserves a much better reputation. C4D is way easier in many aspects but I really haven't found any show stopper just yet or anything to really want to go back to C4D.
