In general, Blender Internal seems to excell in concept arts, since you can easily make use of volumetric lighting, atmospheric haze, and hairs and furs, whereas Cycles is easy to use with realistic product viz or arch viz. It's a blessing that Blender comes with both of them. The artist for this week has used Blender Internal to create an enchanting art, using volumetric lighting and particles.

How, then, can you qualify for this award?  Please remember that a fan art is a most unlikely candidate for this award, unless it obviously excell the original art to a considerable degree (which is very difficult to achieve). And please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios.  If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. Please submit your latest work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

Artist's Comment

About Me:

My name is Maciej Stok-Stokowiec. I am 21 years old. I got interested in 3D graphics a couple of years ago. The time that I spent and the progress that I made helped me to create better images of ideas that I conceive in my mind. I learned everything by myself, sometimes taking advantage of online tutorials. My favourite areas of 3D are creating enviroments, setting up lighting and particle animation.

About 'Snail':
This render was made in 2 days, I just started modelling and tried to achieve a kind of a macro view. The work wasn't particularly influenced by anything, it's just an outcome of having fun with Blender.
