Blender can open new windows of opportunities for talented concept artists such as the winner for this week. Check out his story.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of November 16, 2020: Michael Yoshimura.

Artist's Comment
About Me:
I'm an Architectural Intern/Concept Artist. My passion lies in combining the mediums of cinematography, CG, and architecture - communicating spatial design through visual narratives and multi-media. I received my Bachelor & Master of Architecture from the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism. I have also studied in Spain at Universidad Europa de Madrid. I have worked professionally in Japan and Canada.

About "SHOTENGAI:"
Shotengai investigates Takaharu’s role in a future society extended through technological infrastructures - a story about space, city, and technology. Set in 2100, Takaharu lives in a humble mid-rise building off a shotengai, somewhere in a dense Japanese city. The story reflects upon his everyday actions as a maintenance worker for a large corporation’s code database. As the years have progressed, Takaharu has become increasingly jaded, and the bits of broken memory which narrates the film gives ques to his past employment, as a black market code hacker.
