Quite often we run into high-profile artists behind works published at blenderartists.org. This week's winner seems to be one of them!

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of October 12, 2020: Joseph Conover.

Title: "Spaceman Spiff"
Genre: Concept Art
Renderer: Cycles

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Joseph Conover, and I have been doing design work professionally since 2016 at many different studios on movies ranging from Avengers: Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and Wonder Woman as well as ads, designs, and interactive content..

About "Spaceman Spiff: A fan-made Calvin and Hobbes tribute:"
I’ve got a couple of thoughts here about my slightly wacky interpretation of Spaceman Spiff. So first of all, if it wasn’t obvious this is not for profit, not canonical or official in any way,
merely fan art. I’ve wanted to make this since I was a kid so this project was mostly for me, but I also see a lot of great fan art out there and I want to share with the community!
Adding voice was a tough choice, it started off without voice but Calvin and Hobbes is so full of funny dialogue and quips that I decided to add two lines and when I tested it with friends
they didn't seem to mind. I want the themes of this to speak for themselves and the audience to be able to make their own interpretation, but I also did a write up about some of
the technical design on my website:
I know my design choices can be a bit strange sometimes, but I hope you guys enjoy this project!
