Carlos Sosa is back with another stunning and inspiring 3D art! (http://blendernews.org/xe/Feature_Articles/16572)

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of June 15, 2020: Carlos Andrés Sosa.

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Carlos Sosa, I’m a self-taught 3D artist from Quito, Ecuador. I’m 37 years old and I’m the Multimedia Director and a 3D Instructor at the Metropolitan Institute of Design in
Quito. I don’t have a background in any traditional art form, so when I started with 3D I realized the necessity of improving my drawing and painting skills. In my free time I try to practice digital painting and learn more about anatomy and that has improved the quality of my work in the past few years. I love robots, cyborgs, mecha, and post apocalyptic stuff.

About "ACID RAIN:"
In this artwork I used a mix between 3D and a photograph by Adina Voicu on Pixabay. I love compositing so this project was a challenge to match the lighting of the photograph to integrate the 3D modelling . I rendered the image in Cycles as it produces more realistic results. The key to obtain good results is matching the camera correctly and pay attention to the lighting. In this  image I used and HDRI to emulate the same conditions as the photograph and also a few area lights. Color correction and rendering extra passes is very important to the final compositing of the image. It was also necessary to model a low poly dress to match the reflections on the 3D metal objects.
