About Me:
My name is Sami Siukola and I’m from Nokia, Finland. I’ve been working as a graphic designer for the past 15 years. I took interest in 3D about 7 years ago and started learning
Blender. I’m self-taught and constantly learning new. I’ve incorporated 3D in my daily work, so I guess I can call myself semi-professional. The tools I mainly use for 3D include Blender, Modo, Substance Painter/Designer and Marmoset Toolbag. And for my 2D work I obviously use Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. My main interest in 3D is hard surface
modeling and texturing.

About "Yamaha PSR-E363 keyboard:"
This is a personal project. It’s a fairly straightforward hard surface modeling exercise. Everything is modeled in Blender and rendered with iRay in Substance Painter. I’ve been using
Modo for modeling lately, but now that Blender 2.8 was released i wanted to give it a go. Usually i render my images with Cycles or the Modo renderer, but for this image I used iRay.
iRay is great if you don’t need additional lamps or complex lighting, but it’s obviously not as versatile as Cycles. The difficult part modeling this image was to get the proportions just
right. The shape and size of the keys need to be right or they look off. I made all the texts and logos in Illustrator and it took quite a bit of UV-work to get them to the right places.
