About Me:
I'm Robert Boyle, a 28 year old teacher and CG enthusiast. I first started using 3D software just over a year ago when I realized that I could not draw snow in the 2D software I was using. I went searching for better ways to do it, stumbled across Blender and have not looked back since.
About "The Enigma I"
I started this project as a test of my modelling skills but it soon led to testing my texturing skills as well. The Enigma was a cipher machine used by the German army during WWII and was decoded mainly by the hard work of mathematicians at Bletchley Park, UK.
The model comes in a 270,000 verts and comprises of 255 separate objects. I lost track of the amount of materials but it is somewhere around 70. My favorite part of the model was the hinge of the wooden box, not that it is visible in any of the final renders... Oh well.
