It's notable that many of the best Blender renders are coming from artists that are hardly known among Blender artists' community. Where are they coming from? Apparently, some of them are experienced artists coming from other 3D tools, while others are new artists with strong skill in traditional art. No matter who they are, they seem to have one thing in common: They love art. The artistic excellence of "workers" who are mostly interested in if a tool would bring them money right now are bound to be limited. Although developing your talents is one thing and marketing them is another, it's great to see the stunning and beautiful works of these artists.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of March 31, 2014: Ben Foulds.

About Me:
My name is Ben Foulds and I like in the UK. I have been using Blender for about 12 years and enjoy using Blender both at home and at work.
About "Junk"
Modelled, rendered and composited in Blender & Cycles. I wanted to develop a project that focused on the use of lighting to give a mood to the final artwork. I felt that I achieved the right mood early on by getting the lighting set up properly before I'd begun to work on the robot and other props, but I was stunned by the positive feedback I received when I submitted the result!
