Artist's Comment
About Me:
I am an engineering student, PC "modder" and long time Blender user based in the UK. I picked up Blender, and 3D modelling in general, in 2006 whilst studying for my GCSEs. Recently I've been using Blender, specifically the Cycles rendering platform, for concept work for building heavily modified computers. Cycles offers tremendous flexibility thanks to real-time rendered viewport, this makes the process of narrowing down suitable materials for use in a given build much quicker and simpler than before.

About "Loramentum - Designing a Wall-mounted, Water-cooled and Portable Computer"
Loramentum (meaning strap in Latin) is a PC designed to be both a prominent feature in a room and machine capable of being easily transported to LAN events. I wanted to show off how far the aesthetics of computer components have evolved in recent years, and how better than by making everything visible with nowhere to hide? Rather than use a case that surrounds the parts, I decided to opt for a framework, that would be milled from solid acrylic, to support both the components themselves and much of the liquid cooling system.
