This week's winner has been a total surprise and has led to a change in membership policy of www.BlenderNews.org. The current policy of BlenderNews.og's membership is restricted to identifiable freelancers, professionals, and studios. But one of the top-notch works released in recent weeks turned out to be that of a "hobbyist." His online portfolio demonstrates that this work is not a single happy coincidence but that of an artist with profound understanding of principles behind CGI. The membership policy of BlenderNews.org, therefore, has been adjusted to include professional-quality hobbysts who are competent and ready to serve as freelancers, even if he or she does not have a past record of ever working in the industry.

If you are a hobbyist with no past professional record but you feel you are ready to serve as a freelancer, please feel free to sign up on www.BlenderNews.org. And be sure to include your blog or website address at the "Homepage" field. After signing up, please check your email for account activation. If your activation email does not arrive, please wait for a day for the administrator to activate your account manually after reviewing your sign-up information. If your "Homepage" reveals your competence as a CGI worker, you will be approved as a "Regular Member." Otherwise, you will still be admitted as an "Associate member" who can post comments here at www.BlenderNews.orgjust as the Regular Members can do.  If you feel you need to have your membership re-evaluated, please contact us with your new portfolio or blog or website address.

So, how can you qualify for this award? Please remember that this award is reserved only for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work doesn't seem to appear during a specified week, this award will not be given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

Thus, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of May 28, 2012: Tamás Török.

Artist's Comment:

About Me:

I deal with 3D graphics and blender since 2004. I started 3D graphics as a hobby but it would be great if one day it would be my job.

About "Minotaurus:"

I wanted to improve my character modelling ability and I chose an interesting character. Besides the practice my propose was making an atmospheric image.
