How useful can Blender be for food viz? Evidently, as good as you need it to be, once you have necessary skills. Here are some of the well-known food viz realized with Blender even before the advent of Cycles:

- Sweet stuff (throwing some food at Vray)

With the advent of built-in compositor for Blender, another possibility has been open for food viz with Blender, that is, environment swapping. An example is shown as follows:
Choosing a proper location or setting up props for a food picture can be time-consuming, if not expensive. With the availablity of Blender, you need to be bound by them any longer. Now, it's time for you to surprise your clients.
