Blender's accessibility to people of all ages has opened up an interesting phenomenon. Some very talented 3D artists in their teens have emerged and even received good publicity
in the Blender community. Since the BlenderNews.org has been reserved for adults who are of age to work as professionals, however, legal minors do not get contacted
by BlenderNews.org on purpose until they pass their legal age to work, as was the case for this week's winner--who has been noted for fantastic character concepts.

How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top-notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

My name is Cheryl Chen. I’m currently studying in London, and I like making characters as a hobby.

I really liked the costume designs of alchemist characters from various fantasy games and such, so I thought it would be fun to make a character based from those.
