One of the biggest advantage of Blender seems to be the availability of massive amount of comprehensive online tutorials that are free for all to explore. How long will it take for seasoned 3D artists coming from other 3D packages to "master" Blender? Arguably, you might find the answer in the comments of this week's winner.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of May 27, Boris M..

About Me:
My name is Boris and I am from Lithuania.I am currently working as a freelance 3D Artist doing all kind of things, but my main passion is character art. Originally, I was working with 3DSMax and Zbrush but when I discovered Blender about a year ago, I was really fascinated and inspired by this program, I even started learning python in my free time--just because of this :). I like everything about it. Big thanks to all who are helping to develop such great software! I hope someday I can contribute something to awesome Blender community!
About "Smiley:"
Originally this was some random doodles in Zbrush but then I decided to redo this sculpt and render with new SSS shader in Blender. The main concept was to make look him fierce and
frightening and kind of smiling.
