Good lighting makes a huge difference in any projects. No matter how superb the modeling, and concepts have been, poor lighting can make them look "cheap." That's why the winner for this week has been selected for his phenomenal lighting skill that make any viewer wonder if they are looking at a photo or not.
How, then, can you too qualify for this award? Please have in mind that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. So please submit your best work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. Any other render engine is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.
So, it is with great pleasure that www.BlenderNews.org introduces to you the winner of the Render of the Week Award for the week of September 12, 2016: Jack Davies.
Title: "BMW 4 Series - M Sport"

Artist's Comment
About Me:
My name is Jack Davies, I'm 25 years old, based in the UK. I've been a digital artist since the age of 11, mostly working on automotive artwork, but in the past few years I've been branching out into more organic, conceptual things. I have a deep love for Blender, it's the first program I intuitively grasped, and since then I've added other programs to my repertoire such as ZBrush, Substance, and I've been using Photoshop for years too.
About "BMW 4 Series - M Sport:"
The work in question is the 4 series. I've always had an appreciation for BMWs, so I figured I'd jump on a render of one. I didn't model this specific car myself, as the work was focusing on the rendering side of things to push the capabilities of Cycles and my post-processing. Due to it being an exercise in rendering, not in modeling, I purchased the base model from Humster3D to work with. The wheels however, including the tires, rims, brakes, are all modeled and textured by myself.
