One of the common practices of beginners of CG is spending enormous amound of time modelling details that you would never end up using in your final renders. Experienced artists, therefore, know the benefits of creating story board and etc that would help them identify optimized models and scenes for their renders. The winner for this week certainly had a most efficient modelling approach for his need. You would be amazed how simple he manage to keep his 3D models while creating a very convincing and beautiful scene.
How, then, can you qualify for this award? Please remember that this award is reserved for those that are on par with or that excel top notch works published by artists and studios. If such work does not appear during a given week, this award is not being given to anyone. Please submit your latest work to www.blenderartist.org or to the Member's Gallery of this site, or Contact Us to show where your work is available on the internet. It doesn't have to be a Blender render, internal or Cycles. A Vray render or any other render is fine as long as Blender was used as a part of your workflow.

My name is Matej Hudak. I'm a post-graduate student in computer graphics at Comenius University in Slovakia and a fan of 3D art.
I created this little project from pure laziness. The inspiration for the result is mainly from rain and raining scenes. I was wondering if I can create such a scene and I did. There are no significant texture maps, except the texture of wood branch. Other than that it is just good materials and lighting.
