How good is Blender as an arch viz tool? You might find the answers in the arts and comments made by the following artists, some of the many that are scheduled to be featured in this series.
Living by the Lake
by Robert Horvath
My name is Robert Horvath, 35 years old, from Wiener Neustadt, Austria. I´m the founder of Jeromedia, a company dedicated to architectural 3D visualization. After years of only doing 2D jobs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator,…) I got my foot in the 3D door, so I was looking for a 3D suit that would fit my needs. I noticed blender by accident back then (2012) while searching for a 3D Application to replace Cinema4D, a software which I was used to, but never really felt comfortable with.
Besides static 3d images, our core product is building Virtual Reality tours of architectural projects which are currently in development. Our clients use that tours to give their customers a better impression of what the final product will look like.
About "Living by the Lake:"
This project was made for a prefab house manufacturer who wanted to show his products on a lakeside environment which in real life is a building site right now. It was essential to give their customers the look and feel for lakeside living and to give our client the possibility to start promoting this project, even if the completion of the buildings is still another year ahead.
