How good is Blender as an arch viz tool? You might find the answers in the arts and comments made by the following artist(s), some of the many that are scheduled to be featured in this series.
Modern Bathroom in Cycles
I'm Emanuele Bernardi and I work in a rendering studio in Italy. I usually use Blender for modeling at work, but I use it also for rendering at home for my personal projects. I've been using Blender since 2009, and I'm really happy with Cycles.
About "Modern Bathroom in Cycles:"
The modern bathroom project started as an entry for the CG Cookie arch viz contest. But I didn't finish it in time. Though I didn't abandon it, and I continued working on it in my free time. It was a completely original project, and it has had several changes and second thoughts during the construction, until it became like what you see now. I made up the painting on the wall using an image of an ancient Roman fresco and covered with some damaged plaster. I modeled everything and created almost all the textures in the scene. Also the furniture design and the interior decorations are original. I made towels with cloth simulation and fur.
